Winterize your home and protect your investment. We apply industrial-grade sealers that lock out moisture, repel salt, and enhance the natural beauty of your driveway and stone.
In Western Canada, the elements are relentless. Unsealed concrete absorbs water, oil, and de-icing salts. When that trapped moisture freezes, it expands, causing your expensive driveway to pop, spall, and crack.
At Cure and Seal, we believe maintenance is cheaper than replacement. Our concrete sealing services create a durable, breathable barrier that prevents water intrusion while allowing the concrete to release trapped moisture. Whether you want the rich "wet look" for your exposed aggregate or an invisible shield for your broom-finished sidewalk, we have the right chemistry for the job.
One sealer does not fit all. We match the product to the porosity and style of your concrete.
1. Exposed Aggregate Sealing
The "Wet Look" Finish. Exposed aggregate is beautiful but vulnerable to stone detachment. Our high-solids acrylic sealers penetrate deep to bond the stones to the cement matrix, preventing loose rocks while enhancing the rich, vibrant colors of the aggregate.
2. Penetrating Sealers (Broom Finish)
The "Invisible" Shield. For standard grey driveways and sidewalks, you don't always want a glossy shine. We use silane-siloxane penetrating concrete sealers that soak into the pores. They repel water and salt (hydrophobic) without changing the texture or appearance of the surface.
3. Stamped & Decorative Sealing
UV Stability & Color Enhancement. Stamped concrete fades quickly under UV rays. Our non-yellowing, high-gloss sealers bring the color back to life and protect the surface from abrasion and sun damage.
4. Stone & Retaining Wall Sealer
Breathable Protection. Natural stone and veneer need to "breathe." We use specialized sealers that stop rain from entering the stone face but allow internal moisture to escape, preventing rot and mold behind the wall.
Many homeowners try to seal their own driveways, only to have the product peel or turn white (blush) within months.
Here is why Cure and Seal systems are different:
Higher Solids Content: Store-bought sealers are mostly solvent/water (10-15% solids). Ours are industrial-grade (25-30% solids), leaving a thicker, longer-lasting protective film.
Breathability: Cheap sealers trap moisture, causing the coating to bubble and whiten. Our systems are engineered to breathe.
Anti-Slip Technology: High-gloss sealers can be dangerous when wet. We add a specialized anti-slip aggregate (Shark Grip) to our mix to ensure your driveway is safe to walk on, even in the rain.
New Concrete
Should be sealed 30 days after pouring (once cured) to prevent immediate staining.
Resealing
In Canada, we recommend resealing exposed aggregate and stamped concrete every 2–3 years to maintain the bond and gloss.
Preparation is Key
We don't just spray and go. Every job includes a high-pressure wash and chemical clean to remove dirt, oil, and old flaking sealer before we apply the new coat.
[Blurb]
Glossy sealers can be slippery when wet, which is why we always recommend adding an anti-slip additive to the final coat. Penetrating sealers (for plain concrete) do not change the surface texture at all.
Sealing prevents new damage. It stops water from entering the pores and freezing (which causes spalling and micro-cracks). However, if you already have structural cracks, we need to perform concrete repairs before we seal.
Yes, but cleaning is critical. We use industrial surface cleaners and pressure washers to remove oil stains, moss, and grime. If the concrete is severely stained, sealing will lock that stain in, so we ensure it is as clean as possible first.
